Shayne O’Cass: Cold and Soft. That’s my bold prediction for the conditions at Randwick on Saturday buddy. Then again, that’s probably par for the course for June Stakes Day now known as Bob Charley Stakes Day.

Adam Sherry: G’day Shayno. It’s good to come off the bench for a run and hopefully we can find a few winners. What are your thoughts in the feature?

O’Cass: No Classique Legends in this year’s renewal. It’s a very open race but I do like the set-up of a fast run 1100m on a big track like this for Mnemosyne’s grandson Contemporary. He needs the perfect ride and no one is riding better than Adam Hyeronimus.

Sherry: Cool Jakey has been very good in each of his runs this campaign including that win over Gallant Star at Hawkesbury’s stand-alone meeting.

O’Cass: You know I said just now, no one is riding better than Hippo. Well, I will say he has an equal in Dylan Gibbons. That’s all good for me given Gibbo (Junior) is riding Royal Supremacy. Forget the Scone Cup but remember he is an Italian Derby runner-up.

Sherry: I think Pereille is a good each-way chance in Race 9. He had no luck when held in the straight in the Takeover Target Stakes at Gosford first-up. He has a solid second-up record and Zac Lloyd to help negotiate the wide gate.

‘He runs times that other horses can’t’: Lee brothers’ next big hope

O’Cass: Another capacity field with numerous chances. The story of the day really. I landed on Fleetwood. I seem to recall that most of the Godolphin horses that raced at Scone had no luck on the day for one reason or another, Fleetwood being one.

Sherry: The two-year-olds start off the day and it’s an interesting affair. Hidden Motive is a very promising horse who bounced back from two defeats as favourite to win impressively at Hawkesbury. Central Coast, the $1.4 million son of Sunlight by Wootton Basset, was scratched from Warwick Farm on Wednesday to run here. I’m going with Godolphin colt Matina who was runner-up to the talented Agarwood here last start.

O’Cass: Winter is an interesting period for two-year-old fans, I think Sarge has one will be hearing about in the spring, namely Change My Address.
