BEST BET
MOAKSUN (Race 3 No.3): Asfoora’s little brother went down narrowly in a driving finish at Ballarat last time out and gets his chance to break through at Mildura.

NEXT BEST
ALPINE HONEY (Race 2 No.2): The Paul Preusker-trained three-year-old ran on well in an encouraging debut and should be harder to beat with race experience.
UNTETHERED (Race 8 No.8): Ran on well in a good return at Ballarat and has trialled well since. He’ll go well over 2000m on Friday.

VALUE BET
MISTAVAIN (Race 4 No.9): Steps up to BM64 level but hasn’t had much luck at his last couple of runs and should go close again.

LAY OF THE DAY
JEWELS CAPTAIN (Race 1 No.3): Gave too much start when third at Murray Bridge first-up and is likely to settle in the second half of the field at Mildura. Will need everything to go his way.
