The new Alligator Blood?
David Vandyke sure hopes so.
The Group 1-winning Queensland trainer will on Saturday at Doomben unleash a rookie two-year-old that Vandyke says reminds him strongly of seven-time Group 1-winning superstar Alligator Blood who Vandyke once trained.
Unraced two-year-old gelding All Inclusive shares the same sire (All Too Hard) as Alligator Blood, with the ‘Gator’ being one of the horses of his generation who has won seven Group 1s and more than $8m in prizemoney.
From the moment Vandyke first laid eyes on All Inclusive as a yearling, forking out $220,000 at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale last year, he thought of Alligator Blood.
“When he came out of the box at the sales, he reminded me of the ‘Blood’ as a baby,” Vandyke said.
“From the moment he walked out, it was like deja vu. I thought that was as good a recommendation as anything. I didn’t have much of him sold when I put my hand up for him, fortunately I have been able to get some good people into the ownership.
“Everything he has done has been professional, his trial was excellent, he had a jumpout and he did well there too.”

All Inclusive is the favourite for Saturday’s QTIS Jewel Prelude 2YO (colts and geldings division) at Doomben and on Friday TAB had him marked at $3.40.
All Inclusive led and won a Sunshine Coast trial earlier this month but Vandyke says he is better ridden with cover.
Vandyke thinks so highly of All Inclusive that he has nominated him for the Golden Slipper and Inglis Sires’ during the Sydney autumn carnival.
“If he wins on Saturday, you might see him in Sydney as we have paid up for the Slipper and the Sires’,” Vandyke said.

“If he gets beaten he will go to the spelling paddock we will look forward to seeing him as a three-year-old.
“The plan in the trial was to get cover but he had other ideas and (jockey) Ryan (Maloney) said he jumped and he just wanted to get going.
“Ryan said he wasn’t going to give him the wrong messages so he took up the running and he proved too good and he’s come on nicely since.
“It’s always hard with these unraced horses, especially when they haven’t been off the bit too many times. But all the signs are good and think he will run very well Saturday.”
Meanwhile, Vandyke thinks he might have a Group 1 Queensland Oaks prospects on his hands with midweek Ipswich winner Moszur.

Vandyke, who won the Oaks with Gypsy Goddess in 2022, couldn’t have been more impressed with the maiden win of filly Moszur who scored by almost four lengths over 1690m on Wednesday.
“All the signs are she will get over a trip and Ryan (Maloney) said she felt like she is going to be a stayer,” Vandyke said.
“We will just plot a very easy course for her, she is sort of ahead of the pack when it comes to the Queensland Oaks.
“We will be nice and kind to her and hopefully we will end up in the big one.
“She has $29,000 in prizemoney and, generally, about $30,000 gets you in the Oaks.”
