INSIDE MAIL – KENSINGTON
RACE 1
Call Me Mojo was $8 into $6.50 first-up at Canterbury (for good reason) and was nailed right on the wire. The David Pfieffer-trained relative of both Zoustar and Testashadow has drawn well again and one would anticipate natural second-up improvement. Pretty Powerful is her dam’s tenth foal, all eight who have raced are winners, five of them stakes-winners, the other three stakes-placed. That just doesn’t happen. This is a nice colt too. Big watch on Ant.
Bet: Call Me Mojo to win, box trifecta 1, 2, 9, 10
RACE 2
Tuileries is a filly going places and she’s bred to get there. A daughter of So You Think, her fourth dam is Ruby, the mother of Rubiton and Euclase. This Peter Snowden-trained filly was tipped out after a fantastic debut sixth of 15 in a very deep midweeker at Warwick Farm on April 1. Trialling brilliantly. Certain Future is another well bred filly, this one a Yulong $340,000 Easter purchase who has been hard to miss in her two November trials. Ryabinka is as good as anything in this race and better than most.
Bet: Tuileries to win, box trifecta 3, 4, 5, 9

RACE 3
Candlewick has accepted for one other race here and one at Rosehill that she could very well win. As for this one, she has just the dream gate (4) and while the opposition are no easybeats, she is the one with the most talent and upside. She was pretty unlucky last start. Valetudo is an Irish-bred Zoustar with Chris Waller. You could have a lot worse systems in racing than back Waller-trained Zoustars. Joyner is a half to the Waller-trained Brazen Beau. Her chances of back-to-back wins probably come down to the wide draw.
Bet: Candlewick to win or if scratched Valetudo to win
RACE 4
Delrico is going to require a fair few scratchings to make the cut. In fact, he may have already raced in the first but he has such a better draw here. Long story short, he sent out some really positive signs at his first prep to say his second one will be even better. Speaking of bad draws, Manwe has a shocker but the only son of Kementari was very good first-up when third to subsequent Saturday winner Eye Of The Fire at Canterbury. Raikkonen ran into in a handy one debut at Kembla then went to Canterbury and led throughout.
Bet: Delrico to win or if scratched Manwe each-way
RACE 5
Barazin is a Kris Lees-trained, Australian Bloodstock import. The son of top French stallion Siyouni raced three times in France for ‘123’. He has raced six times in Australia and they are all pretty decent runs, none much better than his first-up second over the Wyong mile. The extra 200m seals the deal. He’s dying for it. An 1800m around Kensington is a dream scenario for Dreamdeel. Hopefully barrier 12 doesn’t turn it into a nightmare for a really honest racehorse. Angel of Light should get his chance from box one.
Bet: Barazin to win

RACE 6
Just for some context; I was very keen on All Machiavellian at the home town Gong meeting. He was way overs at $31 and okay, he ran fourth so we got nothing back, but the whole day was a bit too leader orientated and you could just about anoint this horse as the best of the beaten brigade. Not sure the Kensington favours him much better as a track but I am convinced he is going well and getting close. Desperately hoping they say Fiddlers Green is saved for Rosehill on Saturday. Can’t imagine Liberty State lost too many admirers in defeat at his first run in New South Wales. He had that race won until the handy Captain Amelia nailed him right on the wire.
Bet: All Machiavellian each-way
RACE 7
This is a big moment for Angus Stewart; the 20 year-old from Bathurst who saddles up his first runner in Scopics. It is not impossible at all that he gets the fairytale start to his career. If the best Scopics – the one that trialled like a bomb the other day - turns up, then why can’t he win? The Replicant is so reliable and the trials are spot on. The Pemberton family’s flashy Deceive runs by far more good races than bad. Case in point was her first-up (fast closing) fourth to the aforementioned Joyner.
Bet: Scopics each-way, quinella 1, 8, box First 4 Nos 1, 3, 4, 8, 9
