RACE 5: COUNTRY BOOSTED BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1400m)

WONDERLAND STAR (1) was checked on the home turn and held up in the straight when seventh at Ballina first-up. Bounced back to win at Murwillumbah with a sustained run around the outside. MONARCH EXPRESS (2) was a month between runs when fourth to The Piccolino in a Class 1 at Scone over 1100m. Stepped up to 1420m when fourth to Ronny Bee in the Guineas Prelude here on July 6. DERNIER LIEN (5) scored a narrow win over 1100m first-up and looks like she will appreciate the step up in trip.

RACE 6: CLASS 2 SHOWCASE HANDICAP (1100m)

ZOUTASTIC (7) will take improvement from her first-up fourth to Regimental Colours over 1000m at Hawkesbury. Followed a second over 1010m with a Super Maiden win over 1200m last campaign. EXTREME DIVA (1) resumed last preparation with a long neck second to Shambretta over 1000m at Wyong before a win from Sassy Abbey over 1200m Gosford on April 10. First-up for a new stable. STRATAFY (5) will take benefit from her first-up third to Royal Commodore over 1000m at Wyong. Both wins have been over 1100m.

RACE 7: LISTED RAMORNIE HANDICAP (1200m)

TRIBECA STAR (13) has two wins and three placings from five starts first-up and showed he is ready to add to his record with an impressive trial win at Murwillumbah on June 26. Winner at his only start here in the NRRA Country Championship Qualifier last year. BARBER (5) won the Listed Takeover Target Stakes over this trip three starts back. Raced wide in the Listed Bob Charley behind In Flight before a two-length fifth in the Group 3 Healy at Eagle Farm. COMPELLING TRUTH (1) is in great form coming off a win in the Listed Hinkler Stakes.

RACE 8: 4YO&UP CLASS 2 SHOWCASE HANDICAP (1600m)

ARRABBIATA (3) was just behind the placegetters in her first two runs this campaign over 1280m and 1400m in a BM66 and a Class 3. Stepped up to 1600m for the first time when a nose second to Hibiki Harmony in a BM66 at Tamworth. COLLEANO (1) followed a fourth over 1350m at Doomben with a nose second to Larusso over 1600m there two weeks later. BEAUER (5) is backing up from a second to Monte Maximus over 1410m here on Sunday.

SHE CONQUERS (6) was held up until the 150m when third to California Sunrise over 1400m here two starts ago. Dropped back in trip when fourth to Frosty Girl last start. HASTY HONEY (1) jumped straight to the front and raced away for a smart win at her first run over this track and distance on June 25. Returns in the same grade. BELLA KHADIJAH (2) started an odds-on fav and won according coming from near last when resuming at Hawkesbury.

BET: SHE CONQUERS to win.

RACE 5: BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1100m)

EPIC PROPORTIONS (1) boxed on to finish just over two lengths away when fifth to Storm The Ramparts on a heavy track at Randwick before a three-quarter-length second to Axius here last start. Can go one better. VANESSI (7) is better than her last-start sixth at Warwick Farm. Will appreciate a big drop in weight. Was third to Livin’ Thing first-up before that. CANPIKAPONY (4) resumed with a nice win from Gold Card at Gosford on June 19. Won second-up last campaign.

RACE 6: C,G&E BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1550m)

KYEEMA (9) stepped up to 1400m and scored a good win from Superhero over 1400m here. Missed the start by three lengths before rattling home for a half-length second to Heaven Bound at Hawkesbury. Can bounce back. PINK SHALAA (7) was held up from the 500m and just got clear near the 150m when fifth to Nana’s Wish at Warwick Farm last start. Placed his three previous runs over this trip. WHO EVER THOUGHT (2) is shooting for a hat-trick after a win in the Country Cup at Scone and a nose win from Forecaster at Canterbury over this trip.

BET: KYEEMA each-way.

RACE 7: BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1400m)

LUGH (5) was shuffled back to midfield when fourth behind big winner Getafix when resuming over 1300m here on June 25. Won three of his first four starts including one over 1500m second-up. SAMMY CONQUERS ALL (6) was unlucky when just behind the placegetters in three Queensland runs from wide draws. Nice win at Coffs Harbour last start and gets a nice run from the inside gate. LADY BOSS (9) has been freshened and drops in grade from her sixth to Changing Colours at Rosehill. Placed her previous two in midweek company.
