Australia’s stunning World Cup run has come to an end after a gallant loss to international powerhouse Argentina.
Despite falling behind 2-0, the Socceroos fought to the final seconds, with a late chance to level the match denied by an incredible save in stoppage time.
The Socceroos were left to rue a goalkeeping howler early in the second half that put them behind 2-0 after some Lionel Messi brilliance opened the scoring for Argentina.
