HARRY Kane’s appetite for goals remains undiminished by a long and stellar English season - and that spells danger for Sydney FC.

English soccer’s golden boy can’t seem to get enough of the game, and if his rich vein of form continues at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night, Tottenham Hotspur could give the Sky Blues another spanking to add to their 3-0 demolition by Melbourne Victory in the A-League grand final.

“I enjoy football. I love playing the game, and I just want to keep playing,” Kane said after arriving in Australia on Thursday from a 52-match season for club and country.

“It’s not been a bad season,” the striker said in a burst of understatement after netting an equal club record 21 English Premier League goals - one for every year he has been alive. “I have enjoyed every moment of it, but a lot of it’s not sunk in yet.

“I’ll probably be on a beach somewhere soon before it does sink in.” Kane’s sharpshooting has earned him a place in the Spurs record books alongside club legends Teddy Sheringham, Jurgen Klinsmann and Gareth Bale

It was Kane who scored the goal that beat Everton in the last EPL match of the season and clinched Spurs fifth place and a spot in the Europa League.

It was Kane who scored both goals in the 2-1 win against a Malaysian XI on Wednesday on Tottenham’s way to Australia.

His golden year was capped off by a goal inside 80 seconds when he made his England debut off the bench in a March friendly at Wembley against Lithuania.

The PFA Young Player of the Year has become a familiar new name on the world scene, but he was still taken aback by the throng of fans who welcomed spurs at Sydney airport.

“Sometimes playing in the Premier League you don’t realise how much support you’ve got around the word,” he said.

“It was an amazing turnout. God knows how many fans were there.” One of the Sydney FC defenders who will have his hands full containing Kane is Sebastian Ryall, but the 25-year-old right-back is not about to go weak at the knees in the face of Kane’s stardom. “Football is a team game,” he said when asked how he would stop Kane.

“We are all very much aware of the talent in the Tottenham squad, but it’s very much a team game, and we pride ourselves on our defence.” Kane’s 57 minutes of game-time and two goals in Malaysia give a strong indication that Australian fans will see a lot of him in action in a friendly which is expected to attract a bumper crowd of 70,000.
