Chloe Logarzo went viral for the raw emotion she poured out on live TV following Australia’s quarter-final win and it wasn’t even the most dramatic moment of her night.

Logarzo, who was cut from the Matildas’ World Cup squad as a result of injury issues, has revealed she was almost blocked from walking onto the field as Suncorp Stadium went berserk following Australia’s win over France.

The 28-year-old has told Channel 9’s Today Show she got a bit carried away when trying to get onto the field while her teammates were still celebrating and was momentarily stopped.

“I almost got tackled on my way down to the field the other night, because I jumped the fence,” she laughed.

“(I yelled) ‘I have a media pass, I’m allowed to be here’... it’s been great.”

Logarzo was a member of the Optus Sport World Cup broadcast and she stole the show on Saturday night when she was unable to keep it together on camera after the game.

Logarzo has pulled on the green and gold 49 times but was left out of the Matildas squad for the World Cup when the squad was cut from the 29-player provisional squad to its final 23 players.

Jada Whyman, Remy Siemsen, Amy Sayer, Larissa Crummer, Emily Gielnik and Logarzo were the unlucky six to be left out.

Logarzo was the hardest luck story of the lot however, having battled plantar fasciitis since rupturing her ACL in September 2021 playing for the Matildas against Ireland and failing to prove her fitness before the final squad had to be named.

And when the Matildas made history against France, Logarzo couldn’t hold it in during her commentary for Optus Sport.

“I can’t even explain it,” Logarzo said through tears after the game.

“We’re running out of words. There’s tears flowing. It’s massive. The first Australian team through to the semi-finals. We need a drink or ten, but what an ice-cold moment from Cortnee Vine.

“What people don’t understand is that we’ve been in this situation twice before and we’ve lost major tournaments because of penalties.

“And I’m so proud of the people who missed those penalties who stood up and took that because it takes a lot of courage to be able to do it. And I couldn’t be more prouder than us making history. And I can just feel how amazing it feels and just, I’m so proud.

“Please keep coming. You were the reason that we were able to keep going all the way into that penalty shootout.”

They were incredible scenes of raw emotion from Logarzo, who has admitted she is still dealing with the disappointment of not being selected for the tournament.

“But I think I’ve changed my perspective on how I need to approach this and still be appreciative of me being part of it,” she said. “I’m grateful.”

Logarzo has gotten emotional on the coverage throughout the competition so far.

“I’m torn between the two of being so excited and happy for the girls and so proud of them, but also the disappointment of … this is something I’ve dreamt of for three years,” she said.

“To not be down on that field and the instant gratification was kind of not there but I still feel like I’m taking part in what I’m doing and my roles have shifted.

“Although I’m not on the team running as much as I can for the girls, I think that’s what my biggest part for them is, I’m running my mouth.”

She told Nine on Monday morning

“It was really emotional, I think I’ve cried way too much on national TV the last few days,” she said.

“I’m OK, there were a lot of emotions... I’m so happy for the girls, genuinely so happy.

“But for me it’s sad because I want to be down there with the girls, I want to play my role.”
