Tottenham’s 21-year-old wonderkid scored 31 goals against English Premier League opposition this season and went on to be named the young player of the year.

His superb form continued against a Malaysian XI on Thursday night, where he netted a brace to give Spurs a 2-1 win.

But Faty, the French-born Senegalese international, has come up against the likes of Carlos Tevez, Fernando Torres, Javier Mascherano and Didier Drogba in his career and has vowed to stop Kane on Saturday night.

Harry Kane climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge as part of the Vivid festival.

“I will try to stop him like I’ve stopped all the other players I’ve played before,” Faty said.

“I’ve played against quality, like Torres or Drogba. Of course he (Kane) is a very good player, I’m very happy about what he’s doing and I wish for him all the best.

“I think we try to give our best for this game. We know Tottenham is a big team, but we are good too, so we will try to give the maximum for our team.”

Faty will be helped at the back by Seb Ryall, but the right-back believes it will be down to the whole team to make sure Kane isn’t able to breach their defence.

“Football is a team game — we have to play as a team, but obviously we’re very much aware of the talent in the Tottenham squad,” Ryall said.

“We pride ourselves on our defence, so it’s something we’re going to be working on. It’s a team effort, obviously it’s going to be a tough game and we’ll have to be at our best.”

For his part, Kane says he hasn’t fully taken in the success of his season yet. He hasn’t had much time to either — the English Premier League wrapped up less than a week ago and he’s already travelled to Malaysia and now Sydney.

“It’s not been a bad year,” Kane admitted.

“But I don’t think a lot of it has sunk in to be honest — I’ll probably be on holiday somewhere on the beach and it will all sink in and hit me. It’s been amazing and I’ve enjoyed every moment. Hopefully it’s just a start and many more years to come.”

Though it’s essentially an exhibition match on Saturday night, Sydney coach Graham Arnold says both teams are obligated to put in their best performances.

“We’re representing Australia, we’re representing the A-League, Tottenham are doing exactly the same,” he said.

“We’re professionals and every time I send a team onto the field it’s about winning, we don’t ever go out to lose. No doubt it will be a competitive match, but both sets of players will respect each other and it will be a clean match.”
