ADELAIDE Olympic will meet Adelaide City in the FFA Cup SA final after coming from behind to defeat Adelaide Comets on Wednesday night.
Comets went in front early on through Allan Welsh but NPL top scorer Christos Pounendis brought Olympic back onto level terms on the cusp of half-time, firing past Daniel Vaughan with a trademark header.
John Karatzas scored the eventual winner for Olympic with thirty minutes to go, coolly slotting the ball past Comets keeper Julian Torresan to send Olympic through to its first cup final since 1993.
Adelaide Olympic coach George Tsonis will be looking to put to bed the ghost of grand finals past when Olympic steps on to Coopers Stadium for the final on June 22, having played in a losing decider 2-1 to MetroStars in 2004.

“It has been a long time since Olympic played on Hindmarsh,” said Tsonis, who took the helm at Olympic last year.
“In the final I think it was 2004 when I was the captain and it was my last game before I decided to go to Adelaide City so it is a huge day for the club.
“It is a special moment for everyone, I left Olympic to go to City to win silverware which I did and to take my homegrown club to a final it is going to be a very special day for me.”
Adelaide City beat Sunday amateur side Elizabeth Downs 2-1 on Tuesday night.
