LIVERPOOL said it was “touched’’ by a Twitter message from the daughter of the chief steward aboard a missing Malaysian airliner, appealing for her dad to “come home’’ to watch the club’s game.

The English Premier League club reposted the message that Maira Elizabeth Nari, daughter of chief steward Andrew Nari, wrote on the social networking site on Sunday, when Liverpool beat Manchester United 3-0.

“Daddy, Liverpool is winning the game. Come home, so you can watch the game! You never miss watching the game. It’s your very first time,’’ Nari had posted.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 went missing on March 8 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 227 passengers and 12 crew aboard. Despite a massive international search for the aircraft, no trace of any wreckage has been found.

“This has touched our hearts,’’ Liverpool said in a Twitter reply to Nari on Wednesday. “Just to let you know that we are thinking of your father & all those still missing from flight MH370. Be strong.’’

Nari replied later Wednesday, “If dad sees this, he’ll be so happy! He’ll be smiling, he’ll be laughing. I can imagine how happy he’ll be. Dad’s a big fan of LFC!’’

Liverpool also posted Nari’s Sunday message on its Facebook account, where it has been shared more than 7000 times.

With Sunday’s win, Liverpool closed to within four points of Premier League leaders Chelsea.
