Back with Brisbane Roar, Corey Brown has received a public apology from the A-League club for his ‘invalid’ sacking last year.

Brisbane Roar has made a public apology to one of the A-League club’s players for the “invalid” termination of his contract.

In August last year, left-back Corey Brown was sacked by the club due to alleged serious misconduct.

However, the following month, Football Australia’s national dispute resolution chamber ruled that the Roar’s termination of Brown’ employment was invalid.

The Roar’s new management of team on Friday night released a statement of apology to Brown – who has since returned the club – and “withdrawn” is statements on August 18 and 19, 2022.

“We respect the importance and integrity of Football Australia’s dispute resolution processes,” Brisbane Roar chief executive officer Kaz Patafta said.

“What is of equal importance is our commitment to player and employee welfare and ensuring that we uphold the highest standards moving forward into the future as a club.

“Corey is an important member of our organisation, and we look forward to the significant contribution he will bring in the coming seasons.”
