A Ben Kennedy howler has put Adelaide United up 3-0 against the Central Coast Mariners.

The ball eventually found the back of the net when the Mariners goalkeeper let a simple Craig Goodwin free kick slip through his fingers.

As Goodwin wielded away in celebration, the 31-year-old shot stopper collapsed to the ground with his head in hands.

A horror moment for the keeper, whose mistake caps off a shocking performance from Mike Mulvey’s men overall.

FFA Cup final hero Goodwin now has four goals in two games for the Reds — he got off the mark after 9 minutes after heading home from an inch-perfect Apostolos Stamatelopoulos cross.

Goodwin then returned the favour when he put the ball on a plate for Stamatelopoulos who made it 2-0 inside 16 minutes.

The Mariners fought back momentarily with some dangerous set pieces and a sliced Matt Simon shot, but the shocking mistake has well and truly put them on the back foot.
