SAUDI ARABIA PUNISH NORTH KOREAN COLLAPSE

Already 3-1 down against Saudi Arabia, having not long conceded the third after comical defending, things went from bad to worse for North Korea in Melbourne.

Saudi striker Nawaf Alabid embarked on a mazy run on the left touchline, cut inside only to see his shot come back off the crossbar — but as it did so, it hit the raised arms of defender North Korea Ri Yong-jik. Who was promptly shown a red card.

Alabid then took the penalty — only for it to cannon of both posts before he piled in the rebound.

It was a crazy moment that summed up one of the most entertaining games of the tournament so far.
