Football Federation Australia chief executive James Johnson confirmed the A-League is postponed immediately due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The decision was unanimous he said on Tuesday morning at press conference at FFA headquarters in Sydney.
Johnson said the FFA would review the decision in the coming weeks with the status of the suspension to be reviewed on April 22.

The decision Johnson said was made on Monday night.
“We were comfortable taking the initial decision to allow the league to proceed but we also understand the virus was moving quickly,’’ Johnson said.
The decision we took last night was mainly due to logistic issues with regards to borders controls (around Australia.)
“At this stage we’re focusing on whether we can resume the season as soon as possible.
“If we are to play the A-League resume in a month’s time, two month’s time I don’t see the reason why we can’t play the FFA Cup as well.”
Johnson said there would have to be financial adjustments within the FFA operations due to the suspension of the A-League.
With Adelaide United having five games remaining before the end of the A — League season, FFA is expected to reconvene three days before the Reds were to face Brisbane Roar away on Anzac Day.
