Adelaide United’s captain fantastic Isaias claimed a record fourth Aurelio Vidmar Club Champion award at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Tuesday night.
The Spanish-born recently naturalised Australian added to his previous awards won in the 2013-14, 2016-17 and 2017-18 A-League seasons.
“This is a very proud achievement for me and one that means so much,” Isaías said before Adelaide hosts Melbourne City in an elimination final at Hindmarsh Stadium on Sunday.
“I want to thank my family and my teammates for helping me achieve this because without them I know it would not be possible.
“As amazing as this award is, I know there is a bigger prize that we can all share in still there for us to win.
“It all starts on Sunday and between the boys and myself we are going to do everything to reach the next stage of the finals and, from there, anything is possible.”
Isaias has played every second of all 27 rounds this season, scoring a personal record four goals during the home-and-away campaign.
In his sixth year at the Reds, Isaias also claimed the Stillwell Hyundai members’ player of the year.
Earlier, Reds women’s star Amber Brooks, an ex-US international, took centre stage to win the club’s W-League award.
Centre-back Brooks, 28, became the fifth American to win an individual women’s award in the club’s 10th season.
“I’m honoured and grateful to receive this year’s player of the year award,” Brooks said.
“I’ve been fortunate to play on many teams in my career and I can honestly say my season as a Red this year was by far my most enjoyable experience.
“I think we can all be very proud of the new records we set as a club.”
Coventry-born Ryan Strain, 22, earned the club’s A-League rising star prize after cementing a spot at right back before a hamstring injury in round 23 halted his campaign. He featured in 22 matches.
Charlotte Grant, 17, won the club’s W-League rising star. The club’s golden boot winner Craig Goodwin is ready to fire after 10 goals in 27 matches saw him become just the second Reds player to achieve double figures in a season.
Goodwin, 27, also won the club’s goal of the year award as voted by fans when his FFA Cup final goal against Sydney FC was clearly a favourite.
Goodwin scored five goals in the 2018 FFA Cup campaign as US attacker Veronica Latsko earned the club’s women’s golden boot with nine goals.
Carlo Armiento, 19, and Louis D’Arrigo, 17, were joint winners of the youth player of the year. Will Cuts won the Remo Paris club person of the year.
