Football clubs across SA share touching tributes to Nick Lowden, 23, following sudden death
Local footy clubs and their players have shown an outpouring of support to the family of young gun Nick Lowden, following his sudden death.

Football clubs across the state have paid made heartwarming tributes, following the sudden death of young premiership star Nick Lowden.
The premiership player passed away on Thursday, with Norwood Football Club confirming his death in a statement on Friday.
“The Norwood Football Club is deeply saddened to announce the passing of premiership player and current squad member, Nicholas Lowden,” the statement said.
The 23-year-old made his SANFL debut at Norwood Oval in Round 8 last season and played 22 League games for the Redlegs across 2022 and 2023, including last year’s premiership win.
Several football clubs have taken to social media to share their devastation, while leaving touching messages for Mr Lowden’s loved one.
SportsCast Media SA said the talented player “will be sadly missed.”
“Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of Nick during this testing time … we want to reflect and take stock of your contribution not only to your friends and family but the wider football community,” the statement said.
The Central District Football said they were “devastated to hear of (his) passing,” remembering him as “part of their 2022 premiership team.”
“We are thinking of his family, his loved ones, the Norwood playing group, coaches, and the wider Norwood Football Club community at this difficult time,” they said in the statement.
North Adelaide Football Club added: “We are thinking of his family, his loved ones, the Norwood Football Club playing group, coaches, and the wider Norwood Football Club community at this sad time.”
Glenelg Football Club gave their “deepest condolences” to Mr Lowden’s “family, friends, and the entire Norwood Football Club community during this difficult time”.
West Adelaide Football Club honoured Mr Lowden recognising his “impressive performance in the 2022 SANFL Grand Final,” before paying their condolences to his loved ones.
“We are thinking of his family, his loved ones, the Norwood playing group, coaches, and the wider Norwood Football Club community at this difficult time,” they wrote in the statement.
South Adelaide Football Club left a message of support to the Norwood Football Club, after they posted the news to their Instagram.
“The whole footy community are behind you guys. Our thoughts go out to everyone,” the club wrote.
Earlier, the SA Football Commission and SANFL said Ms Lowden’s “valuable contribution to Norwood Football Club and the SANFL men’s League,” would forever be remembered.
“We send our heartfelt condolences and offer comfort and support to Nick’s family and friends, the players, coaches and staff of the Norwood Football Club and the extended football community at this difficult time,” they wrote in the statement.
