Everyone is on the trade table, says Port Adelaide president David Koch

PORT Adelaide president David Koch says his club must take a “ruthless” approach to its list management decisions and refuses to rule out trading All-Australian forward Chad Wingard.
“No one is off the trade table as far as we are concerned,” Koch told TripleM radio’s Dead Set Legends on Saturday when questioned on Wingard’s future.
“If you are going to be ruthless to be elite you’ve got to make hard decisions.
“Now that (trading Wingard) is a decision that is up to our list managers … (it is the same) for all players and so I don’t think any decisions have been made about anybody.
“I don’t want to speculate on any individual players but at this time of year, both in coaches and players, there is an assessment.”
Koch acknowledged Jared Polec was “very sought after” by interstate clubs and the Power may not be able to afford to keep the star wingman at Alberton.
“We’ve got to weigh up what we are able to pay in whole mix of other contracts and other players’ contracts and Jared quite rightly has to weigh up his future,” he said. “It’s only a short amount of time that you are at the elite level and you’ve got to make the most of it.”
“We are on terrific terms with Jared but they are the decisions every player and every list manager has got to make about everybody in the club.”
