WOODVILLE-West Torrens coach Michael Godden has described premiership favourite Norwood as the best team he has seen in the past decade in the SANFL.

Godden said the Redlegs had stars all over the ground and were extremely hard to match up on after his side was beaten by 34 points at The Parade on Friday night.

“My boys were outstanding and had a red-hot crack,” Godden said. “They were just too good on the night.

“They are very slick and very confident at the moment. But anyone can be beaten and our blokes learnt an enormous amount about Norwood and ourselves.”

The Redlegs climbed a game and a half above the Eagles on the ladder on the back of their 11th successive win. With three games remaining, they are almost certain to have the bye in the first week of the finals.

Terry Milera is expected to return to the Glenelg line-up to face West Adelaide at the Bay on Sunday, after playing in the reserves last week. He had missed the previous two weeks due to personal reasons.

Experienced defender Aaron Joseph will also return after serving his three-match suspension for rough conduct.

The Tigers are coming off a confidence-boosting win over Port Adelaide at Alberton Oval.

“With a new coach it has taken the players a while to adjust to the game style Mark (Stone) wants them to play,” Tigers football manager Paul Sandercock said. “The players are taking more ownership of what is happening on the ground which is pleasing.”

Sturt will be aiming to enhance its claims for a top-three spot when it hosts Central District at Unley Oval on Sunday. The Double Blues impressed in their win over the Eagles last week.
