Shane Warne frequently used Viagra for erectile dysfunction prior to his shock death in 2022, it has been revealed.

Shane Warne was taking Viagra a decade before his death and used it during his high-profile relationship with British actor Liz Hurley.

Sources close to the legendary cricketer have told news.com.au Warne was not embarrassed about using the erectile dysfunction medication during his passionate love affair with Hurley, to whom he was briefly engaged, and openly discussed it.

Warne and Hurley were a couple from 2010 to 2013.

Warne was 41 when the relationship began and Hurley four years his senior.

For decades Warne had been cultivating a reputation for being a “legendary lover, an athlete” in the bedroom when the romance began after a chance meeting at Royal Ascot races.

The revelations come the day after a weekend report claimed the non-TGA-approved erectile dysfunction medication Kamagra was secretly removed from Warne’s luxury villa by a senior policeman on the day Warne died.

An unnamed policeman told The Daily Mail that at the urging of senior officials, he had removed a bottle of the Indian-made treatment from Warne’s Samujana villa in the hours following his death on the afternoon of March 4, 2022.

The medication was omitted from a police report.

Warne was 52 when he died.

“We were ordered by our seniors to get rid of the bottle. These orders were coming from up high, and I think senior officials from Australia were also involved because they did not want their national figure to have an ending like this,” the policeman reportedly told British outlet.

The news will surprise few of Warne’s closest friends and associates.

Warne’s voracious appetite for sex – and for new partners – was an open secret long before his death.

The Australian spin king and serially unfaithful husband had scarcely blown up his 10-year marriage to wife Simone in 2005 when he was photographed making merry in a London bedroom, clad only his daggy Playboy motif briefs, with two British models and an inflatable sex toy.

Warne’s relationship with the Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery star Hurley – which Warne would describe as the greatest romance of his life – had run out of gas by 2013.

Not long after Warne, then working as a successful international cricket commentator, admitted he was using dating app Tinder – and other apps – to find women.

He moved on quickly from Hurley with a series of models and reality starlets.

At the time of his death he was said to have been in multiple simultaneous relationships.

Warne’s cavalier swashbuckling attitude off the pitch was much the same as his attitude had been on it.

A renowned binger was known for pushing his love for sex, ciggies, punting, makeovers, pampering, partying and food to extremes.

As his longtime manager James Erskine said after Warne’s death: “(Warne) was a bit all or nothing. It was either white buns with butter and lasagne stuffed in the middle or he would be having black and green juices.”

Warne’s sex life was, say sources, much the same.

Whether the Thai policeman’s revelations throw into question statements made by the last two people to see Warne alive on the day he died, two Thai masseuses, is unclear.

The masseuses informed police investigating Warne’s death that their paid services were “just massage”.

It was a third masseuse who arrived later at Warne’s $4000-a-night villa that day to give the treatment-loving Warne a foot massage and do his nails that raised the bell about his death.

Warne’s body was found next to a pool of vomit and blood.

A post-mortem conducted by Thai authorities against his family’s wishes would find Warne had of “a suspected heart attack from natural causes”.

According to the Australian government health site HealthDirect, Viagra, which contains Sildenafil, the same drug purportedly in Kamagra, may not be safe for people with a history of stroke or heart disease. It can also interact with blood pressure medicines and nitrates, which might be used in the treatment of pulmonary hypertension.
