An opportunistic fan has made an absolute fool of himself by botching his chance with Australian Test opener, Sam Konstas.
In comical footage uploaded by the Sydney Thunder to Instagram, as Konstas arrived at training on Wednesday morning a man went to extreme lengths to catch him before he went through the gates.

As he hurtles towards Konstas – who by then had walked out of shot – the man would soon come to realise he had a bigger problem on his hands than a parking inspector who could ping him for parking in a disabled bay, his car wasn’t in park and it was rolling forward.

As the man realised he had missed his chance of catching Konstas, he turned to see his car heading towards a Mitsubishi Lancer parked directly opposite.
About 10m away from the car, the man almost face-planted as he rushed back towards his vehicle but it was too late, with his car smashing into the Lancer as he got to the door.
It was a funny situation for all involved, except for the man who not only had the embarrassing ordeal captured on video but has to foot the cost of the vehicle his car struck.
And social media was quick to react to the hilarious footage, with many feeling he got what he deserved for parking in a disabled bay.
“That is gold footage!” former Australian netballer Bianca Chatfield said.
‘That’s what you get when you try to park in The disabled spot,” another commented.
While a third wrote: “Ultimate karma”.
Yet in the man’s defence, he is not the only one wanting to get a piece of the sport’s newest star.
Konstas has made some serious waves since reverse ramping the world’s best bowler, India’s Jasprit Bumrah, on his Test debut at the MCG.
While that method has been questioned as an ongoing tactic by the likes of former Australian captains Mark Taylor and Ricky Ponting, the teenager said he would continue to do what worked best for him, whether that be for the Sydney Thunder or for Australia on their upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.
“I feel like I’ll just keep backing myself. Obviously, I’m going to adapt with my different methods,” Konstas said – well aware the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka will pose different challenges to those experienced at home against India.
“It’s going to be completely different with the crowds, obviously.
“It was the first time playing with big crowds and maybe the emotions got to me a bit, reflecting on it. But obviously Sri Lanka are going to be tough to beat in their home conditions. I’m looking forward to that.”
“It’s obviously a huge honour representing my country and touring to Sri Lanka. They’ve welcomed me with open arms and I’m keen to learn and get better.
“Obviously, we’ve got a strong squad. If I do get the opportunity (to open), hopefully I’ll take it with both hands.”
