Jasprit Bumrah has announced himself as the world’s most exciting fast bowler
He made his debut earlier this year, but India’s Jasprit Bumrah has already imposed himself on Test cricket — prompting skipper Virat Kohli to dish out an incredible compliment.

Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the world but the Indian skipper said even he wouldn’t like to face star quick Jasprit Bumrah.
So good luck to the bumbling Aussie batsmen who need to find a way to combat the MCG man-of-the-match in Sydney to stave off what would be a historic series defeat.
Bumrah’s match figures of 9-86 were easily the best for an Indian fast bowler in Australia and his day three spell was arguably the best fast bowling spell of the series.

It rivalled his own efforts on the wild wicket in Perth on which the straight-arm puncher was close to unplayable, which he has been for most of the three Tests.
Data from CricViz says though the series, Bumrah has found an edge or a miss every four balls he has bowled, or 201 times, for his 20 wickets.
“If there’s a pitch like Perth, I wouldn’t want to face Jasprit Bumrah because when he is on a roll he can really crank it up,” Kohli said.
“The way he bowls is so different to anyone else, and I think he realises that more than the batsmen. That’s why he is so confident about his skill.”

Kohli conceded Bumrah’s initial Test selection, in Cape Town in January, was a gut feel call with the hope he could be “lethal” having been so effective in white ball cricket.
Bumrah took 16 wickets in that three Test series, has 48 wickets in 2018, including 20 Australians, and the expectation is, scarily enough, he’s only going to get better
“He was training like he wanted to play Test cricket, he was that obsessed about his fitness levels and his work ethic,” Kohli said.
“We discussed before South Africa that if we put him as a surprise packet he could be lethal if he gets his lines and lengths right.

“The mindset he has is what separates him from anyone else in the world right now. He looks at a pitch and he doesn’t think of hard toil, he thinks of wickets.
“He is as strong headed as anyone I have seen in the past and that’s the key to his success in the past 12 months.
“The way he has matured in test cricket, and the areas he is bowling so soon in his test career I think is a very scary sign for all the batsmen around the world.”
