“Ben Crowe was one guy who I had a good chat to and puts life back in perspective and put me back on the right track,” Siddons said.

“I have had some great people that I have talked with over the past 10 weeks, I will still lean on them, family.”

Langer welcomed Siddons into the national team set-up during the Adelaide day-night Test against Pakistan last November/December in Adelaide.

Having guided Australia from the low of Sandpaper-gate, Langer proved a bastion of strength for Siddons who also praised the efforts of assistant coaches Greg Blewett and Luke Butterworth.

“Just to get a bit more knowledge around coaching I went to the team meeting and coaching staff meeting,” Siddons said.

“I went to their top up session before the second Test. JL is someone I spoke to quite a lot over this period. He has been through some up and downs in his career and as coach coming back in.”
