Glenn Maxwell’s recovery from his golf cart concussion is on track, returning to the nets in Ahmedabad as Australia prepares to face England on Saturday.

Glenn Maxwell took his first tentative steps back into the nets just three days after his curious golfing concussion.
The all-rounder trained briefly on Thursday afternoon (Indian time) in Ahmedabad, two days out from Australia’s clash with England, a match that Maxwell will miss after hitting his head having fallen out of a golf cart on Monday.
Maxwell, 35, batted for around 10 minutes, facing slow bowling. He also did some jogging.
The Aussies remain optimistic that the Victorian will be available for their next match against Afghanistan in Mumbai on Tuesday. Australia in the box seat for a semi-final berth but head into their final three matches having lost Maxwell and fellow all-rounder Mitch Marsh, who has return to Perth for family reasons but has indicated he will return to India before the tournament is out.
Having been on light duties for much of the World Cup, leg-spinner Adam Zampa had an extended bowl in the middle of Narendra Modi Stadium with bowling coach Daniel Vettori.
It was close to a full Australian contingent in the Gujarati heat, with the team having had the start of the week off before turning into the home straight of its tilt for a sixth World Cup crown.
