The in-form cricketers your SuperCoach BBL team needs

Let’s call them the dynamic dozen. Pick any of these 12 players in your SuperCoach BBL team and you’ll have the benefit of one of Australia or England’s most in-form T20 cricketers.

SuperCoach BBL: Shane Warne's Big Hitters

There are very few guarantees in the Big Bash League.

Just ask Melbourne Stars, who were the shortest of favourites as they cruised to victory in last season’s final before collapsing against Melbourne Renegades.

The best way to maximise your chances of success in SuperCoach BBL is by nailing your captain and loading up on players with double game weeks.

But beyond that, it’s about knowing which players are in form to set yourself apart from the pack.

Here’s 12 players who have been in red-hot form in recent months to consider.

ULTIMATE GUIDE: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SUPERCOACH BBL

SUMMARY: The NSW left-hander was the highest scorer in this summer’s Marsh Cup with 440 runs at 73 and an impressive strike rate of 95.9. Hughes also has 301 runs at 43 in the Sheffield Shield.

SUMMARY: Livingstone is one of the leading run scorers in South Africa’s Mzansi Super League tournament with 198 runs for Paarl Rocks. The highlight of his time with Cape Town Blitz was a knock of 65 from 41 balls against Jozi Stars.

SUMMARY: Vince’s performances in the recent T20 series between England and New Zealand warranted serious attention. He made 110 runs in four matches with a top score of 59. He’s been a bit of a rollercoaster lately, but most batsmen are in T20s.

SUMMARY: There’s arguably no batsman in better form in Australia than Ferguson (aside from David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne). The experienced middle-order batsman has three hundreds in his past four innings, which included his 123 from 154 balls which almost got South Australia home in a Sheffield Shield epic against Western Australia.

SUMMARY: Marsh is playing with real freedom as it appears his prospects of a Test re-call are all but over. The experienced left-hander remains one of Australia’s best white-ball batsman, as he showed with his matchwinning ton in the Marsh Cup final.

SUMMARY: Australia’s buzz all-round prospect from Western Australia has been in supreme batting form. He hasn’t bowled lately due to a back issue, but there’s still hope he returns to the bowling crease in time to be used by Perth Scorchers.

SUMMARY: Henriques has been back bowling recently in a welcome sign for those eyeing him as a BAT-BWL pick in SuperCoach BBL. The Sixers captain has got to at least 30 in six of his last nine completed innings.

SUMMARY: The Brisbane Heat quick was one of the BBL’s leading bowlers three seasons ago and has recaptured that form this summer. There’s decent competition for Brisbane’s pace-bowling roles but he has to be a leading contender based on form and is cheap in SuperCoach BBL at $81,600.

SUMMARY: Renowned as more of a red-ball bowler, ex-Test paceman Bird is back with Sydney Sixers this season. He’s the cheapest of their four quicks and in the type of form which suggests he could be a real Round 1 smoky.

SUMMARY: Gannon will return to the BBL with Brisbane Heat after his recent signing. He’s the leading wicket-taker in the Sheffield Shield with 23 scalps, three ahead of Jackson Bird.

SUMMARY: Signed by the Strikers as a replacement for Ben Laughlin, Conway is likely in a battle with Wes Agar for a starting spot in Round 2 (Adelaide has a Round 1 bye). At $42,000, the big quick could be a serious bargain.

SUMMARY: Agar is enjoying a breakout summer in South Australia and is likely ahead of Harry Conway and Nick Winter for the third pace role at Adelaide Strikers. He’s cheap enough to be on your bowling bench through his Round 1 bye.
