THE ghost of Shane Watson has come back to haunt Australia again as a burnt lbw review continued their wretched run of luck against South Africa.
In last Sunday’s opening ODI captain Aaron Finch declined a review that would have saved him from an early dismissal.
Today in Adelaide, opener Travis Head conferred with Finch and decided to roll the dice on a review that proved disastrous.

Replays confirmed that Head was trapped plumb in front by Lungi Ngidi, with the ball shown to be going on to hit the top of middle-stump.
Head had to depart for just 8 and Australia was once again in the lurch at 1-12, before Aaron Finch led a rescue mission.
Former Australian great Watson’s battles with DRS became the stuff of legend during his fabled career and on the 2013 Ashes tour the all-rounder simply couldn’t help but make the wrong decision with the technology when he was regularly struck on the pads.
Australia are a team down on confidence and the two DRS stuff-ups in as many weeks appears to be a by-product of key players second-guessing their best judgement out of sheer desperation.
It took no time at all before social media got stuck into the young South Australian - with Watson’s love of a review littered throughout the barbs.
