ALEX Carey says the Adelaide Strikers have three of the best in recruits Peter Siddle, Rashid Khan and Colin Ingram.

And Afghani Rashid looms as the essential ingredient in an attack that missed a miserly, wicket-taking tweaker last season.

Leg-spinner Rashid, 18, pocketed 17 wickets in a debut Indian Premier League campaign for Sunrisers Hyderabad and claimed the inaugural Caribbean Premier League hat-trick for Guyana Amazon Warriors in September.

“It will be exciting being behind the stumps to Rashid Khan, I will have a catch with him and see what his wrong’un looks like and his stock ball.

“I will try to catch as many balls as I can until the first game on Friday week against Sydney Thunder,” said Carey.

Rashid will bring the mystery but 62-Test seamer Siddle adds vital nous for the Strikers.

“It will be fantastic having Peter in the group, a senior figure who has obviously played a lot of Test cricket,” said Carey.

“The young bowlers are looking forward to speaking to him and picking his brain.”

Glamorgan power-hitter Ingram has dominated the English limited overs scene over the past two seasons winning the MVP for 2016’s T20 Blast and 2017 one-day Cup.

“We have some really exciting players in,” said Carey of South African Ingram.
