There will be no love lost between the Seivers sisters when they go head-to-head in Saturday night’s Cairns Hockey Association U18A women’s decider.
Ashleigh, 15, will play for Brothers and Zara, 14, for Saints in the grand final, which will be livestreamed on the Cairns Post website.
In true sisterly fashion, the siblings shared the same response when asked how they were feeling in the lead-up.
“I’m excited, kinda nervous,” they both said.
Ashleigh said there was a good chance the pair would cross paths during the game.
“It’s funny, most of the time we play opposite positions on the field so we’re marking each other,” she said.
Zara said she was looking forward to the challenge of going up against her sister.
“She’s very strong on the ball, I’ll have to play really hard,” she said.

Brothers’ future bright after season of opportunity
The girls’ father Glen, who plays for Brothers and coaches at Saints, said he and wife Katrina would happily sit on the fence for the big game.
“There’s been a bit of tension in the household,” he said.
“It’s all been good natured so far but when they get on the field, it will be game on.
“We talked about wearing both uniforms or maybe sewing two uniforms together, but we’ll just sit back and enjoy the game. It’s a win-win situation, just hope the girls play well.”
