'Terrifying': Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez makes stunning history in Caleb Plant KO
Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has pulled off the unthinkable with his stunning victory over Caleb Plant, making history by cleaning out the entire super middleweight division.
Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has made history, becoming the first man to hold all four belts in the super middleweight division as he claimed victory via an 11th round KO of Caleb Plant.
Alvarez had won titles at four different divisions and is the world's best pound-for-pound boxer but he had his work cut out for him against Plant.
The previously undefeated Plant had never been knocked down and it took relentless body shots to finally wear the American out in the 11th round.

After finally getting the first knockdown early in the 11th, Alvarez went for the kill, ending the fight with a flurry of punches and leaving the referee no choice but to award it to the Mexican legend.
Alvarez becomes the first Mexican man to hold all four belts but romped through the division.
Alvarez started the run through the super middleweight division last December, beating Callum Smith, before adding Avni Yildirim, Billy Joe Saunders and now Caleb Plant to complete his super middleweight trophy case with the IBF title.
Alvarez joins Oleksandr Usyk (cruiserweight), Bernard Hopkins (middleweight), Jermain Taylor (middleweight), Terence Crawford (super-lightweight) and Josh Taylor (super-lightweight) in the rare air of unified champ.
Taylor quickly took to Twitter, writing: "Canelo was excellent tonight. Welcome to the club".
It moves Alvarez to 57-1-2 in his career.
Plant far from disgraced himself in the fight, taking the battle to Alvarez and not being sucked in any time the Mexican champion tried to draw him into a trap.
But in the end, Alvarez outworked the American and finally got over the top in the 11th round.
Speaking in the ring after the fight, Alvarez said, through a translator, that it "hasn't been easy to get here".
"It signifies so much of the history of Mexico to be an undisputed champion," he said. "We're only six, it keeps me happy and motivated to be one of the six undisputed champions of the world."
As for Plant, Alvarez had some kind words after the bad blood in the lead up to the fight.
"My respect for Caleb Plant, he's a very difficult fighter, he has a lot of ability, I do respect the fighter," Alvarez said. "We're men at the end, he wanted to still fight me, wanted to still continue and I told him there is no shame, we had a great fight today.
"Sorry about the motherf***er incident that happened, that he didn't mean it that way. We made amends, everything is okay and keep going."
And of course, he ended with "Viva Mexico cabrones".
The world lost its mind for Alvarez as he joined some of the greatest ever.
