He’s nicknamed ‘The Butcher’ and Nikita Tszyu has showed a seriously eerie glimpse of his bloodthirsty nature as he vows to exact revenge on a fellow rising star of Australian boxing.

Tszyu (7-0, 4KOs) will take on Australian super welterweight champion Dylan Biggs (10-0, 7KOs) in Newcastle on November 22 in by far the toughest fight of both boxers’ careers to date.

Betting odds are yet to be released for the bout, but the younger Tszyu brother has entered every fight he’s fought as a raging favourite and will likely be favoured by the bookies again next week.

Biggs looks like the real deal, having claimed the Australian title against Dan Hill in July and backing it up with a dominant knockout win over Ryan Mitchem in September.

Tszyu could well be considered the underdog, given Biggs is more experienced, holds the belt as Australian champion and even dropped Nikita in a sparring session some years ago.

Getting knocked down has clearly played on Tszyu’s mind and he’s made no secret of the fact he has been targeting a fight with Biggs since.

In an eerie new promotional video for the fight, Tszyu is seen eating raw meat and drinking milk out of a wine glass while watching his own highlights with a hood over his head in a cell at the old Parramatta jail.

The camera also pans to a wall where a large red circle is drawn over Biggs’ face, before Tszyu throws a knife at the image of his opponent.

“I knew this fight would eventually happen. I feel like everything that I’ve done in my career so far has led to this moment,” Tszyu told Fox Sports News earlier this month.

“He’s hungry, he’s confident and that’s dangerous. But I’ve got that exact same kind of drive, that lust for glory.”

Tszyu has claimed knockouts in all but one of his seven professional fights so far and isn’t shy about the pleasure he gets from knocking out an opponent.

“It gives you a sense of power over them and that’s probably one of the main desires I have from the sport — that power over another individual,” he said.

“Being locked in there with him and being able to belittle their. That look of desperation in their eyes, that’s something that I love.

“I don’t know if I want to stop him. I want to go the full 10 rounds with him. I want to be in there with him for as long as possible and maybe in the last two seconds get a knockout.”

Speaking on the Main Event Boxing podcast, Biggs admitted he didn’t realise Tszyu had such a vendetta against him and had taken that famous sparring session to heart.

“It was a well placed punch, hit him in the right spot,” the 21-year-old recalled.

“He fell down, had a rest for a few seconds, got back and continued to spar. We did a few more rounds after that so not too much to think about.

“It’s a little bit strange but it’s OK. It’s strange to think that another man’s been thinking about you for the last two years.

“I understand the premise of what he says. He’s got a vendetta out for me. We’ve got bad blood and he’s looking to settle it.

“And that’s OK. I want the big fights, this is what I need.”

Asked if he knew Tszyu wanted revenge, Biggs said: “Not really, to be honest.

“But it was definitely in the back of my mind that’s why there were negotiations and they were falling through. They (Tszyu’s camp) were setting themselves up for this fight.”
