Hulk Hogan has fears that Jake Paul will run wild on Mike Tyson.
Hogan, the 71-year-old WWE legend, appeared on Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” podcast last week and expressed concern that the host’s brother will maul Tyson in their fight in November.
“Your brother is too strong,” Hogan told Logan of Jake. “ … As soon as I saw him get the guy up with the left to throw the overhand right? I went, ‘Oh, my God.’… I mean, really, it was scary. I love Mike to death. I don’t want him to kill Mike. Jesus.”
Tyson, 58, and Jake Paul were originally supposed to fight on Netflix in July, but the fight got rescheduled for Nov. 15 after Tyson suffered a medical emergency on a flight.
Shortly before the fight got postponed, Tyson spoke to Esquire about why he wanted to engage in a physical spectacle in his late fifties.
“I’m a glory junkie. I love people thinking about me all day,” Tyson said at the time. “I’d rather live a short life of glory than a long life of obscurity. It’s just who I am.”
Tyson added, “This is all I started fighting for – to get all this f–king status. I’m going to be chasing it for the rest of my life. I know that. I’m never going to get what I want, because I’m one of those gluttons for pain. I can never get enough.”
In an interview over the summer, Paul had his own reasons for wanting to take the fight.
“I just want to take a risk,” Paul said.
“I think I am crazy for this; I definitely am because I don’t think anyone would take the risk in this position, but that’s just what makes me different. I’m not slowing down for anyone and I want to stay active in the gym.
“He’s Mike Tyson at the end of the day. He has lethal knockout power and is very, very experienced. I think it is going to be a brawl regardless.”
