NBA world loses it over star’s absurdity in Slam Dunk contest

Basketball fans couldn’t believe what they were witnessing as one star produced a never before seen feat that you have to see to believe.

NBA world loses it over star's absurd dunk

The dunk contest remains the jewel in the crown of NBA All Star Saturday and it’s all thanks to one man.

Two-time champion Mac McClung was back in action on Sunday (AEDT) and he wasted no time in leaving jaws on the floor.

McClung paid homage to Blake Griffin who 13-years ago rolled a Kia out onto the court before jumping over the bonnet and slamming a dunk home.

The 26-year-old, 188 centimetre guard, however went one better than Griffin by jumping over the middle of the roof of the car.

McClung left every NBA star and celebrity crowded around the court in sheer disbelief and left those watching on from home shocked as to what they’d just witnessed.

Overtime wrote: “OMFG MAC MCCLUNG.”

HeavenlyBuckets wrote: “Mac McClung is INSANE.”

Troydan wrote: “This Mac McClung dunk might be one of the top in the history of the slam-dunk contest.”

ESPN’s Shams Charania wrote: “He is arguably the best to do this event.”

McClung wasn’t done there as he produced a run of perfect dunks to register 50 on every attempt.

His second dunk of the competition saw him jump over a man holding the ball on top of his head as he rose up above him before rotating and slamming the ball home.

His third was even more outrageous as he jumped over a man on a hoverboard while slamming two basketballs home at the same time.

He then produced a never before seen dunk as he leapt over 211cm NBA player Evan Mobley, grabbing the ball and tapping it on the front of the rim before dunking it.

McClung finished the competition with a perfect score of 200 with each dunk scoring 50 points a piece and claiming his third straight dunk contest crown.

The feat makes him the first player in NBA history to ever win three in a row.

San Antonio’s Stephen Castle finished second ahead of Chicago’s Matas Buzelis and Milwaukee’s Andre Jackson Jr.
