The Adelaide 36ers woes have deepened further after star Jerome Randle suffered what looks to be a horror knee injury while playing in Spain.

In his debut for Fuenlabrada in Spain’s Liga ACB on Saturday night, Randle had to be helped from the court after going down with what the Sixers said appeared to have been “a significant injury to his right leg”.

It comes as the Sixers descended into total anarchy on Friday when co-captain Kevin White revealed on Twitter that former coach Joey Wright had suggested in a coaches WhatsApp group that four of his players should “hang themselves”.

White also alleged Wright had assaulted a player and the club ignored it, while players had been gagged.

The club has extended an external review into its inner workings by at least a week after White’s explosive tirade.

The Advertiser revealed allegations of an incident involving Wright and a player two years ago were investigated - but no evidence was found.

Wright was forced to apologise over the “private comments”, but said they had been taken out of context and did not apologise for his tough stance on the team.

The spark that lit the powder keg of White’s explosive tirade was an interview Wright did with The Advertiser on Thursday when the former coach said four players - imports Eric Griffin, Ramone Moore and Randle and Aussie big man Harry Froling – were not committed enough and that he was to blame for this.

Griffin and Moore took to social media to have their say while Randle said on Fox Sports that he was angry and confused.

“I have messages from (Wright) telling me how he appreciates how I’m approaching this year. ‘I really appreciate you, Rome’. How can you then come back and say that I wasn’t doing my job this year? You can’t have it both ways.”

Randle signed a two-year deal to return this season, but his fate was in the hands of a “club option” to see it out.

The decision might have become a bit more clearer for the Sixers.

With less than a minute to go in the third quarter against Saski Baskonia Randle was dribbling when his right foot slipped on the court.

His knee then hyperextended and Randle was thrown forward by the movement, clutching his knee and looked in serious pain.

After a minute on the ground he was helped up and assisted to the locker room.

Fuenlabrada coach Paco Garcia post game said it looked bad for Randle.

On its Twitter page the Sixers said they were “thinking of you, Rome".

“The star guard appears to have suffered a significant injury to his right leg playing in Spain,” the post said.
