Indigenous sports stars hold a unique place in the heart of Australians.
Across generations and across codes they have showcased their unique skillset to drive some of the most cherished moments in our nation’s history.
Think of Evonne Goolagong at Wimbledon, Cathy Freeman at Sydney, Lionel Rose in the boxing ring or Patrick Mills in the NBA.
As the nation once again prepares to celebrate NAIDOC Week (July 6-13), we are focusing on the theme of this year’s activities being “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy”.
With that in mind we have scoured the country to identify some of the next gen of sporting stars who we hope with light up our screens and feeds in the decades to come.
