Aussies 2024: Young guns to watch at Australian surf life saving youth titles, 15s, 14s, 13s age groups

They are the budding stars of Australian surf life saving from across the country. Top young guns in the 15s, 14s and 13s age groups to watch at the Aussies youth championships this weekend.

They are the budding stars of Australian surf life saving from across the country and they are about to hit the sand and surf in a mass wave at the Aussies on the Sunshine Coast.

These young guns kick off an extraordinary nine days of surf life saving action this weekend in a preview of what is to come in surf sport in upcoming years.

The Aussies run from April 13–21 in 2024 and will be raced from the Alexandra Headland SLSC, Maroochydore SLSC, Mooloolaba SLSC and Coolum SLSC.

More than 7000 competitors will converge on the coast for the annual sporting event which is the largest of event of its kind in the world.

But on days one and two the spotlight is firmly on the rising stars of the sport as they vie for the first medals of the iconic championship.

We’ve spoke to the experts and here are some of the young guns to keep your eye out for on the opening weekend of a blockbuster Aussies 2024.

NSW ATHLETES TO WATCH AT AUSSIES YOUTH SURF LIFE SAVING TITLES

Christopher Kondilios - South Maroubra - U15 Male

Chris has had a standout season and will look to continue the trend on the Sunshine Coast.

Had a great interstates and was strong at the NSW titles with a 2nd in the sprint and victory in the flags.

Dylan Sharpe - South Maroubra - U15 Male

Another talented sprinter.

In Queensland Dylan will be looking to go one better than his silver medal at the Australian championships last year.

Kaitlyn Williams - North Cronulla - U15 Female

As would be expected from a North Cronulla athlete, Kaitlyn excels in beach events.

She won flags at the NSW titles and was 3rd in the sprint.

Imogen Moore - Warilla Barrack Point - U14 Female

Another youngster who shone at the NSW titles.

She will take plenty of confidence into Aussies for her south coast club.

She was part of the Cameron team which finished with a silver behind Newport with clubmates Alani Sims, Imogen Walsh and Bonnie Wrigglesworth.

Rory Muldowney - South Maroubra - U14 Male

Another young gun hailing from the South Maroubra club.

He finished fourth in the sprint at Aussies last year but showed his intent for the Aussies with his win at the NSW championships last month.

His club finished third behind North Bondi SLSC (274) and Coogee SLSC (233) at the NSW age champs with 221 points.

Thomas Giles - Cronulla - U13 Male

Was the most dominant athlete in the U13 beach field at the NSW State championships.

Is an excellent beach sprinter and will look to impress again at the Australian championships.

Dewa Putu Krishna Inder - South Maroubra - U13 Male

Has a great rivalry with Thomas Giles and the pair went head-to-head at the NSW titles.

Their battle will resume on the sand at Aussies with plenty of interest in the outcome.

Olivia Kelly - Woolgoolga U13 Female

One of the standout sprinters at the NSW state titles.

Olivia won both the Sprint and Flags event at the championships in an impressive display and will could be in the running for another double at Aussies.

QUEENSLAND ATHLETES TO WATCH AT AUSSIES YOUTH SURF LIFE SAVING TITLES

Stanley Jarrott - Maroochydore - U15 Male

Stanley is a local and tipped to impress after a great season in Queensland.

He won the Matthew Barclay U15 Ironman Memorial Trophy at this year’s Queensland titles.

But he also snared gold in the Surf Race to go along with this important trophy

Earlier this season he won gold in the U15 Race One Shaw and Partners Summer Of Surf Hayden Kenny Classic Ironman.

Kingston Lowe - BMD Northcliffe - U15 Male

Kingston was crowned the U14 ironman at last year’s Aussies and is keen to defend up an age.

He also won a bronze in the U15 Ironman at the Shannon Eckstein Ironman Classic and silver in the same race at the Queensland state titles.

Taj Murray - North Burleigh - U15 Male

Won gold in the U15 Male Board Rescue with teammate Byron McParland.

He also came up with an individual bronze in the surf race at the state championships.

Nicholas Carter - Alexandra Headlands - U15 Male

Selected as a representative on the 2024 Queensland Cyclones ocean/beach interstate team. Nicholas was part of the bronze medal team in the U15 Male Surf Team at last year’s Aussies along with teammates Byron Oliphant, Archie Mayfield and Jack Whitfort.

Jy Teixeira - Alexandra Headland - U15 Male

A strong showing at the Queensland state titles will give the young Alexandra Headland athlete confidence going into Aussies in an assortment of events.

Ava O’Connell - Alexandra Headland - U15 Female

Won the sprint at the state championships but an injury prevented her from showing her flags expertise.

Former Australian flags medallist Murdoch Finch coaches O’Connell so look out for her return to beach flags at Aussies.

Lily Moana - North Burleigh and Sooke Paley - Tugun - U14 Female

This young pair have gone head-to-head all season in Queensland.

They have shared the spoils across the Queensland Beach Series and also the Queensland championships.

Both will be looking to continue their successful season - and rivalry - at the Aussies.

Javyn Johnson - Surfers Paradise - U14 Male

Watch out for young speedster Javyn in the beach flags.

A talented athlete, he is coached by the greatest male flagger of all time, Simon Harris.

Lane Brady - Sarina - U13 Male

Lane dominated the sprint field at the Queensland youth championships.

He will make the trip down from the North of Queensland intent on adding a few more medals to his haul,

Aaliyah Bourke - Maroochydore - U13 Female

Another youngster on home sand.

Ailiyah leads a strong contingent of Maroochydore athletes who will look forward to an Aussies only a few kilometres down the road.

She is expected to turn heads in assorted beach events.

WESTERN AUSTRALIAN ATHLETES TO WATCH AT AUSSIES YOUTH TITLES

Macy Boisvert - Trigg Island - U15 Female

Macey won the sprint and finished third in the flags event at the WA State Championships.

She is expected to turn plenty of heads on eh sand on the Sunshine Coast.

Emma Paice - Sorrento - U14 Female

Had an amazing Aussies last year, including her sizzling win in the beach sprint.

One to watch at the youth titles at Aussies

Trent Yates - Trigg Island - U14 Male

Dominated on his home beach last year in Western Australia.

He was a member of the winning Mixed team and also the U13 beach sprint race last year.

This year he will be looking to continue his dominance after his dual gold medals at Aussies 2023.

Nicholas Whitehouse - Sorrento - U13 Male

Makes the trip to the Sunshine Coast after a formidable season already.

Among other events, he is a great beach sprinter.

Evie Spratt - Sorrento - U13 Female

Yet another Sorrento athletes with talent to burn.

She is expected to make a mark in an assortment of event, including the Beach Relays.

SOUTH AUSTRALIAN ATHLETES TO WATCH AT AUSSIES YOUTH TITLES

Evelyn Cornish - Brighton - U13 Female

Evelyn is expected to turn plenty of heads on the Sunshine Coast.

She had a great season in her home state and is tipped to carry that form into the Aussies.
