Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic dropped 42 points on Golden State but it was not enough as the Warriors emerged 126-117 victors to take a 2-0 series lead.
Doncic began the game in stunning fashion, scoring 18 points in the opening quarter as the Mavericks opened up a 32-25 lead.

Eight of his points came in the paint – more than the six he scored from that zone in the entire series opener. Stephen Curry, meanwhile had 11 points for the Warriors.
Dallas extended the lead to 72-58 at halftime with Doncic tallying 24 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds. He was well aided by Jalen Brunson who had 20 points on 4-of-5 three-point attempts.
The Mavericks drained 15 of 27 three-pointers as the game turned into a long-range shootout, with the Warriors having 8 of 15 from deep - both sides shooting above 50 per cent from beyond the arc.
Charles Barkley exploded at the referees, saying: “That was the worst half of officiating I’ve seen in the history of the NBA … they were awful.”
However, the Warriors flipped the game on its head with a blistering display in the second half.
Down by 15 points at half time, Steve Kerr’s side reduced the deficit to just two points after outscoring the Mavericks 25-13 in the third quarter.
The offensive masterclass from the home side continued in the fourth as Golden State romped home in the final period to the tune of 43-32 to ensure they’d take a healthy lead in the Western Conference final.
Doncic ultimately finished with 42 points, five rebounds and eight assists as he once again carried the burden for the Mavericks.
For the Warriors, it was all about Steph Curry once again as he had 32 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the win.
Curry then motioned ‘night, night’ to the Mavericks after draining a 3-pointer which put the Warriors up 122-112 with just over one minute remaining.

Steph said night night. Mavericks let a split get away. Missed opportunity. Warriors are deeper and get production from more sources. Plus they that that championship pedigree with the nucleus of Curry, Thompson and Green. https://t.co/itzwTuqts4

Real talk that might have been one of the best all around games Iâve seen Steph Curry play. We all know that heâs a Sniper but the way he was attacking and living in the paint tonight was something a beautiful thing to see! Shoutout to Looney and Porter!!! Carry onâ¦
