Leading South Australia draft prospect Will Gould admits a taxing SANFL Grand Final saw him perform below expectations at the AFL Draft Combine.
“For me my testing didn’t go as well I would have liked,’’ Gould said on SEN SA Breakfast
“It was a few days after the Grand Final so I was still feeling that a little bit.
Gould said the majority of recruiters were understanding given the situation having played in Glenelg’s breakthrough Premiership win over Port Adelaide.
“They were all pretty understanding, but obviously the results weren’t what I wanted,’’ he said.
Gould, who has been described as a ready made AFL player, has shed six kilograms and put in plenty of work ahead of the draft later this month.

“My skin folds were around 78 and the weight was 106 kilograms,’’ Gould said.
“I got some stern feedback about getting them down before potentially being at AFL club, the skin is 50 and the weight 100 kilograms ahead of the draft.
He said while he’d spoken to the majority of AFL clubs he was still unsure just where he’ll end up in 2019 and was more than willing to go anywhere to start his AFL career.
“It’s pretty hard to tell,’’ Gould added.
“The clubs I talked to a few times are the Crows and Geelong, but they can’t guarantee anything.
“I’d be wrapped to go anywhere, but I am a Geelong supporter,’’ he said.
