While fans are being asked to mask up around Adelaide Oval this weekend as football returns with the Adelaide Crows taking on the Geelong Cats, the same great atmosphere and footy spirit is highly anticipated.
Nick Smith, pictured with his two sons Zac, 9, and Callum, 6, has been supporting the Crows for 31 years and can’t wait to be back at the Oval cheering on his beloved team.
He said wearing a mask while moving around the venue does not bother him, and “it’s just what we need to do.”
“If everybody does the right thing, we’ll be back to full capacity in no time,” Mr Smith said.
With a number of changes to the football at the Oval this weekend, The Advertiser has answered the questions ahead of this weekend’s clash.
Do I have to wear a mask at all times?
Masks are mandatory when entering, exiting and moving around the stadium, but are not required when seated.
Am I able to remove my mask when standing on the Northern grass area?
Once in your allocated pod, masks can be removed. Standing posts will contain 120 people.
Can I sit with my family group in a pod?
You will be able to sit with family groups, as each pod contains 120 people, and is separated by two rows of seats or an aisle.
Are QR codes in place for COVID-19 check-ins?
QR codes and hand written sign-ins are being implemented at each entrance to the stadium. It is worth being prepared before entering the stadium, with your MySAGov app open for QR code scanning, or seeing where the closest handwritten sign-in stations are.
Will the Footy Express be operating?
Yes, the free Footy Express bus and train services will be operating before and after the match. Fans have been asked by the state government to be patient and ensure social distancing can be maintained on the services. Extra cleaning staff has been allocated to the service this season.
Will food prices be the same, more expensive or cheaper than last season?
Prices will be the same, as last year’s reductions have been maintained for the season.
