WEST Adelaide's chances of breaking a 30-year premiership drought this season may hinge on its medical department.
WEST Adelaide's chances of breaking a 30-year premiership drought this season may hinge on its medical department.
The Bloods have six players nursing minor injuries who coach Andrew Collins believes are in the side's best 21.
Brad Mangan (knee strain) and Joel Tippett (cracked ribs) missed Sunday's win over Port Adelaide but could face the Eagles this weekend.
Shannon Green (groin soreness) will also have his schedule managed, while Logan Hill (shoulder) and Brad Moran (knee) may make a late run at finals.
Remarkably, Ryan Anderson is another who the club has not given up on.
Anderson had has a pin inserted into a broken fibula in his leg and has already started jogging.
He could press for selection come finals.
"Anderson and Hill are both making a charge,'' Collins said.
"We haven't given up on them.
"Anderson has had surgery and with a plate they heal quite quickly, so he could play.
"All of those six guys, at their best, are in our best 21, so we just need to do everything we can to get them right for the finals."
