Eddie Betts has left West Lakes but his No. 18 Crows guernsey will remain in the family and forward line.
His cousin, fellow goalsneak and 2019 housemate Tyson Stengle, will wear the jumper for Adelaide next season, now that Betts is at Carlton.
Betts, who was traded to the Blues last month after 132 games, 310 goals and three All-Australians in No. 18 for Adelaide, confirmed the guernsey handover on FIVEaa on Friday.
Stengle will become the third member of Betts’ family to wear the number.
Graham Johncock donned it in 227 games from 2002-13.
“Tyson Stengle (is) jumping into the No. 18,” Betts said.

“We want to keep the number in the family because Graham Johncock … is a Betts, I’m a
Betts and Tyson Stengle is a Betts as well, so it’s true family ties.”
Stengle looms as the Crow most likely to try to fill the Betts void in Adelaide’s attack next season.
After crossing from Richmond 12 months ago, Stengle kicked five goals from his two matches for the Crows this year – three against Gold Coast alongside Betts in round 17 and two versus Carlton two weeks later.
When Betts was dropped ahead of the Carlton match at the MCG, Stengle replaced him.
Stengle wore No. 17 at Adelaide this past season and Betts presented him with that guernsey before the Suns game.
He was in No. 44 during his only two games for Richmond.
