“I’m really enjoying the front row seat to the ‘Tom Lynch Show’.”
They are the words of Richmond’s Jack Riewoldt, speaking on SEN radio on Saturday.
And now it’s time for SuperCoaches to buy their tickets while they are still on sale.
The former Gold Coast captain, who has played every game in his first season at Punt Road, passed the three-figure mark just once in the first 16 rounds of the year.
But in a big form spike over the past three rounds — one which has come at the right time of year for the Tigers — Lynch has silenced most of mid-season critics.
And, at the same time, rocketed back into SuperCoach relevance.
“He is finding his legs and showing the world again what sort of player he is and what sort of player we know he can be going forward for us,” Riewoldt said.
With scores of 103, 116 and 132, Lynch is the fifth-highest scoring forward over the past three rounds — only Josh Dunkley, Rowan Marshall, Patrick Dangerfield and Toby Greene have scored more points.
His $435k price-tag has him listed as the 25th-most expensive in the game.
While it’s not at the staggeringly low $266k-mark it was after Round 12, it’s still great buying.
The 199cm forward is the No. 1 player in the competition for scoreboard impact since Round 17.
Lynch has booted 11 goals in the past three rounds, taking his season tally to 45, and his seven score assists is the third-most in the league.
In total, the 26-year-old has been involved in 36 of his side’s scoring chains — the highest number of any player.
Against the Magpies on Friday, Lynch tallied 16 disposals, 13 score involvements, six marks — two contested — five goals and two goal assists.
It’s a stat line which not only highlights the all-round nature of his game but also the many avenues of scoring he possesses.
“Tom’s just a quality player and he’s been really impressive for us. He’s really strong and his hands are elite,” coach Damien Hardwick said post-match.
It’s easy to forget, in a struggling Gold Coast side, Lynch kicked more than 40 goals in four consecutive seasons from 2014 to 2017
And, in a standout 2016 campaign, Lynch booted 66 goals and a took a league-high 62 contested marks.
This season, his 41 is the most in the competition.
With Lynch in just three per cent of SuperCoach teams, he could be the finals point-of-difference you need.
Especially with Melbourne and Carlton at the MCG to come in the next two weeks.
