Current and past Port Adelaide players have joined a social media campaign to have the club don its famous Prison Bars guernsey in the AFL in 2020.
Vice-captain Ollie Wines, former defender Jackson Trengove, now at the Western Bulldogs, and club great Warren Tredrea have thrown their support behind the members’ push for Port to celebrate its 150th anniversary by turning back the clock to wear the club’s traditional jumper.

Wines, a Victorian, tweeted that the black and white striped jumper is “my favourite jumper I’ve worn throughout my whole football career’’.
And Trengove, who joined the Bulldogs as a free agent at the end of the 2017 season, tweeted “yes’’ to signing a petition to put before the AFL.
Tredrea wrote “worth a go — share the petition’’ while international tennis coach Darren Cahill — son of 10-times Port SANFL premiership coach John Cahill — tweeted: “I’d love to see this. We can wear our away guernsey vs Collingwood but for the rest of 2020 allow Port to wear the Prison Bar guernsey celebrating 150 years as a club. How about it AFL? #BringBackTheBars.’’

The Power has only been allowed to wear its famous black and white striped jumper in the AFL on a handful of occasions because of the clash with Collingwood, including in the thumping 57-point win against Richmond in the 2014 elimination final at Adelaide Oval.
Port, which played its first game in the AFL in 1997, has not formally requested to wear its traditional guernsey in 2020 but executive general manager Matthew Richardson said the club is planning to celebrate its 150th anniversary in style.
“Season 2020 is a significant year for the Port Adelaide Football Club,’’ he said.
“We are progressing with a range of plans for 2020 which will celebrate our rich history while at the same time looking forward with great confidence and excitement to the next 150 years of the club.
“We are fortunate to have some of the most engaged and passionate members and fans in world sport and we look forward to celebrating our 150th year together with our community.
“We understand the significance of 2020 and we look forward to taking our community on the journey with us every step of the way.
“There are a broad range of ways we can do that and we look forward to sharing those plans as we get closer to 2020.”
