GWS Giants players inspired by movies, TV shows for AFL Mad Monday costumes

GEELONG is the titleholder for AFL post-season dress-ups but the Cats have a new challenger after GWS players produced some brilliant costumes at their post-season party.

GWS fell short of Grand Final glory (again) and are in the middle of the AFL trade storm (again), but that didn’t dampen player’s end of year celebrations.

The Giants threw down the gauntlet to long-time titleholder Geelong for the best Mad Monday costumes as players fully embraced the dress-up theme yesterday at the Workers Bar and Kitchen in Balmain.

Celebrity appearances included Bachelor Nick Cummins (forward Daniel Lloyd) to Happy Gilmore (Jeremy Cameron), Ron Burgundy (Rory Lobb) and the Channel 4 news team (Harry Himmelberg and Harry Perryman), the crew from The Hangover (led by Callan Ward) and heavy metal band Metallica (featuring Brett Deledio).
