Geelong’s assistant coach Matthew Scarlett has confirmed that the Cats’ star midfielder Patrick Dangerfield has become a father again.
Speaking on TripleM radio prior to the Cats taking on Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night, Scarlett said Dangerfield’s wife Mardi gave birth to a baby girl on Friday afternoon.

He said the couple had named their daughter Felicity.
Dangerfield didn’t travel with his teammates to Adelaide on Friday and instead flew into South Australia on Saturday.
Geelong ruckman Zac Smith and utility James Parsons were placed on standby as possible late replacements but a Geelong official on Saturday confirmed Dangerfield would line up in teammate Harry Taylor’s 250th AFL game.
Baby Felicity is a sister for the Dangerfields’ son George, who is almost two years old.
Dangerfield had said prior to his daughter’s birth that the decision on whether to play Port Adelaide or not was taken out of his hands.
“I’ll make this very clear. I don’t have a say whether I play or not, that is purely my wife,’’ he said.
Before giving birth, Mardi told News Corp recently that their new arrival would take priority.
“There’s enough of our life planned around the football season so why not pop a baby out too,’’ she said.
“Things like this are bigger than football and if you could avoid (a game) you wouldn’t miss it.”
