Taylor Adams happy to be part of AFL quarantine hub to restart 2020 season
As the prospect of the AFL season restarting in quarantine hubs gains momentum, Collingwood star Taylor Adams says he’s happy to “do anything” to get the 2020 season underway again.

Taylor Adams would be “more than open” to moving into an AFL hub to get the season started but the Collingwood star concedes “100 per cent buy in” is impossible.
Adams says it would be “completely understandable” for any teammate or opposition player, based on their individual circumstances, to opt out of any relocation plans.
The AFL is considering hubs as an option to restart its modified season under strict biosecurity protocols.
“You can’t force a player to play, the way I see it,” Adams said.

“If someone’s got a newborn or three or four kids it’s pretty difficult to tell them to go away, no one can tell them they have to go away, so that’s going to be the issue with it.
“It’s a big commitment for players that may not be in a position to leave home and that’s completely understandable.”
But for Adams, who lives with his girlfriend and brother, it is an easy decision to make.
“It’s going to be different for each individual and it is something that we’re not going to be able to get 100 per cent buy in from the playing group,” Adams said.
“For me, no doubt, I’d do anything to play at the moment so more than open to it.”

Adams has trained solidly the past month with his brother Reid, focusing on running and some light skills.
“Had plenty of time to train,” Adams said.
“I was in a good groove before the season was postponed, felt really energised … probably lucky in a sense my pre-season was a little bit restricted so I’m not as sore as what some blokes might be.
“My output (feel for the game) wouldn’t be anywhere near as good as what it was a month ago but I’d love to be out there (playing) this weekend.”
