COLLINGWOOD player Jordan De Goey has confessed to the club he broke his hand in a bar-room altercation and the club has hit him with a fine and suspension for his lies.
The Pies player had told the club he broke his hand in an incident throwing a toy to his dog in an explanation so comical it was hard to believe.
But De Goey, 21 last Wednesday, has now come clean about the real reason behind the incident at a bar in St Kilda last Friday night.

CRAZY STORY: HE’S COMMITTED A CARDINAL SIN
Goey has been fined $5,000 and banned for three weeks which will come into effect after his hand has recovered meaning he will miss a total of six to seven weeks.
He has also been given 10 weeks of community service.
The young gun later issued an apology to the club and fans in a video on the Collingwood website.
“I’m really disappointed in my actions over the weekend,” he said.
“Understandably, after the weekend’s events I’ve definitely lost some of the trust of the playing group, the coaching staff and everyone who works at the club.
“The next few months are going to be really important for me to try and put my best foot forward, making sure I’m doing every thing I can to regain that trust.
“Finally, I’d just like to apologise to all the fans and supporters, obviously my decision I made on the weekend is going to effect me playing for the next few weeks and not being able to support the team.”
$5k fine & 3 weeks ban for De Goey (after his hand is ready). So he misses a total of six/seven weeks. Plus 10 weeks of community service.

“Jordan is a young man who made a mistake,” Collingwood football manager Geoff Walsh said in a statement.
“That is one thing. The issue we have had to deal with over the last 24 hours is how he compounded that by misleading his teammates, coaches and all of the other people at Collingwood who are here to help him be the best player and person he can be.
“He now has the challenge in front of him to win back the confidence and trust he has lost.
“We hope that Jordan will turn this moment in his career to his advantage by committing to being an outstanding footballer, teammate and ambassador for the club.
“In the last 24 hours, the story has changed significantly. At 10pm last night, I received a call from Jordan. The story told yesterday had been eating away at him. He wanted to meet, giving what we understand now to be an accurate version.
“The playing group met this morning. They spent a fair bit of time establishing facts and taking counsel on opinion from significant people.
“We are deeply embarrassed and really sorry Jordan would go down that path and feel he had to concoct that story.
“We invest our faith, trust and belief in our players and anyone in our organisation ... We took swift action once the facts were re-established. We’re disappointed he took that action. We’d hope his realisation of situation and our counselling means he won’t do it again.”
The Herald Sun yesterday made repeated inquiries to his management about that fight but De Goey stuck to his initial story.
Late last night it is understood the Pies became aware of the real story, with De Goey now facing punishment for his lies to Collingwood.
He was meeting club officials including coach Nathan Buckley and football boss Geoff Walsh today.
Collingwood would be expected to punish him with a significant penalty after his breach of trust to the club.

It is a significant embarrassment to the Pies and another example of player deceiving key officials.
Magpies pair Heath Shaw and Alan Didak were involved in a 2008 incident that saw Shaw producing a breath-testing of 0.14 after driving into a car.
Shaw denied he was in the car with Didak, with Eddie McGuire defending him.
“Didak will be accused of the Kennedy shooting next,” McGuire said.
But is soon became apparent Didak was present, with egg on the club’s face over belief of the players.
Only last year Collingwood had to accept the explanation of new defender Jeremy Howe after he broke his finger in a frisbee-related incident with his dog.
Witnesses said he had played a game of T20 cricket that same night and injured himself trying to take a catch.
But he was adamant he had not been injured in that incident and the Pies hierarchy eventually accepted his explanation.
De Goey was set to miss several weeks with the hand injury but now will face internal punishment from the club’s leadership group and executive.
