Eddie Betts’ brother-in-law Tom has come good on a promise to get a tattoo of the star’s face on his rear end after his incredible six-goal haul in his 300th game.
Speaking after the Crows’ 73-point win over Gold Coast in which Betts kicked an incredible goal-of-the-year contender from the boundary, the mercurial forward revealed the added motivation he had for his special night.

“I was just super proud to kick five goals. I had a bet with my brother in law Tom, he said if I kick five goals — he hasn’t got a tattoo — then he would get a tattoo of my face on his butt cheek, so can’t wait for that tattoo Tom,” Betts told Fox Footy.
Minutes after sneaking forward to kick his fifth goal thanks to a free kick to Lachlan Murphy, Betts produced some magic that was simply breathtaking even by his standards.
Tapping the ball to himself in the air and over the back of Gold Coast opponent Jarrod Harbrow, Betts took possession and off two steps on his left foot on the boundary snapped it through from 30m in what was a goal of the year contender.
SEE WHAT THEY’RE SAYING ABOUT THE GOAL
“I don’t know ... when I have a crack and it’s just lucky they go in,” he said.
“(I’m) emotional, especially to get our season back on track.
“We had a rough start to the year and it was super the way the boys came out and to have my family here, my dad and mother, my in-laws, all my cousins, it’s fantastic.”
FINAL SCORE
Adelaide 18.11 (119)
Gold Coast 6.10 (46)
THIRD TERM
Adelaide 12.9 (81)
Gold Coast 4.8 (32)
IT’S party time for Adelaide in Eddie Betts’ 300th game but their clash against Gold Coast has been somewhat tempered by a shoulder injury to Wayne Milera.
Betts kicked his third goal of the game as the Crows shot to a 49-point lead at three-quarter-time with Taylor Walker and Lachy Murphy (three goals) and Hugh Greenwood (two) also getting in on the action.
But the likely win will be soured by losing Milera just before half-time and he sat the second half on the bench with his arm in sling.
The dashing half-back/midfielder collided with Pearce Hanley and the Crows confirmed he had injured his AC joint and would take no further part in the game.
That is the only downside to an otherwise commanding performance after quarter-time with Matt Crouch leading the way with 28 disposals.

SECOND TERM
Adelaide 6.7 (43)
Gold Coast 1.3 (9)
A goal to Eddie Betts in his 300th game and another to Brodie Smith in his 150th have ignited the Crows against Gold Coast and opened a 34-point lead at half-time.
Betts slotted his set shot which was one of five goals the home side kicked for the second quarter along with Smith who drilled one on the run from 50m.
“He (Betts) told us before the game just to have fun so that’s what we’re trying to do,” Smith said as the Crows went into the rooms for the long break.
Smith’s line-breaking play off half-back got Adelaide moving after a stagnant first quarter and Hugh Greenwood also provided a spark with a pack mark and goal from the top of the square.
Matt Crouch has had 21 disposals in the first half while Rory Sloane has had 18 for the Crows.
It seems Brodie Smith only kicks them from long-range!

A goal after the quarter-time siren to Lachlan Murphy might just be the spark Adelaide needs to overcome a lacklustre start to its clash with Gold Coast.
The big crowd on hand to watch Eddie Betts’ 300th game was getting restless at Adelaide Oval after what appeared to be a goalless opening term before Murphy marked on the lead and put it through after the siren.
Adelaide was hoping for a fast start to bury some of the demons that have plagued their patchy start to the year, but the Suns have made life very difficult for them.
That said, the Crows haven’t done themselves any favours with poor skills and decisions such as Tom Lynch’s turnover going inside 50m and Cameron Ellis-Yolmen kicking to a 1 v 2
The Crows have had more of the ball, more clearances, tackles and leads contested possession but is yet to put their advantage on the scoreboard.
For the Suns, Peter Wright has had two set shots but missed from almost the same spot.
