THE selection squeeze is on at unbeaten Adelaide, with coach Don Pyke expecting midfielder Riley Knight to be available for Saturday’s clash against North Melbourne in Hobart.

Pyke said he expects Knight, who missed the big win against previously unbeaten Richmond with hamstring soreness, to prove his fitness at training and push for inclusion against the Kangaroos.

Stars Rory Sloane (corked quad) and Eddie Betts (soreness) have already been given the green light to play.

“He (Knight) has to complete the session today and we’ll check his availability after that but he did some running on Monday and he hit the mark as we wanted, so we’ll see how he trains now,” Pyke said.

“The other two should be fine.”

Asked whether he would change a winning line-up and put Knight straight back into his AFL side, Pyke said: “That’s something we have to weigh up in terms of the side and the structure of the side.

“He was playing some good footy before he missed a week so it will be a good conversation at match committee tonight.

“We’ll weigh everything up and make that decision but it’s a good dilemma to have when you’ve got guys who are outside of the team who are playing good footy and have claims for a spot in the side.”

Pyke said the Crows’ depth of talent had been important in the club’s brilliant 6-0 start to the season

“Pressure is always good and the best sides often have guys who are unlucky to miss out,” Pyke said.
