CROWS coach Don Pyke today assured Adelaide fans captain Taylor Walker would play against Hawthorn tomorrow and eased any doubts over Eddie Betts’ fitness.
Walker was a last minute withdrawal from the Round 1 win over GWS with a hamstring strain but will front the Hawks at the MCG.
Troy Menzel makes way and will travel as an emergency, while Jake Lever will play in the SANFL for the second week in a row as he builds towards an AFL return from injury.
“He’s (Walker) come through fine, he was really close last week, but we took the conservative view,” Pyke said.
“He’s trained fully this week and is ready to go.”
Betts missed one training session this week due to illness but is expected to be fit to play.
“Eddie was just a bit crook yesterday so he trained this morning and should be fine,” Pyke said.
