ADELAIDE Crows assistant coach Ben Hart is hoping the weekend off can help reinvigorate the players ahead of their round four clash against North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.
A number of Crows stars struggled in their 24-point loss to Geelong at Adelaide Oval on Thursday night and Hart said they needed to turn things around quickly to stop their season slipping away.
“It has to click soon or the season will get away form us,’’ Hart said on SEN radio Friday morning.
“We’ve got a few guys who aren’t in ripping form at the moment that’s for sure. We’re just that little bit off at the moment and hopefully it will turn around quick.
“We’ve asked them to go away and have a think about things, we’ll review the game as best we can today (Friday) to give them a weekend away and hopefully they can comeback and find that form from the pre-season that has eluded us so far,’’ he said.
Scans today will reveal the extent of the knee injury Paul Seedsman suffered in the final quarter.
“It looks likely (an ACL),’’ Hart added.
“The way he hyper-extended it looked pretty ordinary, he’s in OK spirits but it’s never good news for the individual or the club,’’ he said.
Hart said one issue was the Crows forward line struggling to get first to the contest.
“They weren’t reading the ball first off the boot,’’ Hart said.
“When there is so much pressure coming out of the stoppage, the only place to go is to the front of the contest and we weren’t able to do it regularly enough.
“We did it in patches and that something we’ll have to look at, our connections going forward wasn’t what we were looking for,’’ he said.
